How many times has the Lover of My Soul stood waiting to speak, but I failed to hear Him because I was too consumed by who I should be, what I should be doing, and where I am failing?
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42

I absolutely love your blog. This particular one fits me a lot lately. I want so much to long to just sit at his feet and listen……..not being so self-absorbed. I also love your blog because I, too, have an African-American daughter through adoption and I’m absolutely in love with her. Her name is Mia. Thanks so much for your writing. I look forward to more.
I frequently link to and read your blog from my sister’s blog (chapter2lifetogether) and love your words of wisdom. It has been awhile since I have been here but just read this…posted on my 40th Birthday…I needed it today…I am a Martha (and ironically nicknamed that by a dear friend but not for the Biblical Martha)…and am encouraged by your words and Luke 10. Thank you for the gentle reminder.
