Grateful

There are moments when this season of life is so sweet that I feel my heart will explode if I don’t tell someone about it.

I am so grateful, especially for the friends and family who loved me so well during the darkest moments of 2022.

I am thankful…

For my children, my home, my dog…

For Sunday morning services and the 5:00 a.m. silence in front of my Christmas tree…

For the food in my pantry, the sound of the heat kicking on to warm my home, and hot water in the sink when I wash the dishes…

For coffee in my cup and the blanket across my lap…

2022 showed me how precariously all of us live – right up against the precipice of disaster. We set up camp there and go about life, and most of the time, we are completely unaware of it.

Once you have seen it, however, really seen it, you can’t “unsee” it.

This year, I had the nearness of destruction take my breath away.

And I’m not only still standing, but by the grace of God, so incredibly loved in the middle of it all.

What a miracle. Such extravagant kindness.

Thank you… Thank you…Thank you…

  1. Praises that you are on the other side of whatever it was. Praises, also, that you can open our eyes so eloquently. Thank you and God bless you for sharing.

    1. Hi, Lana

I went through both divorce and cancer this year. I am doing well, but still recovering from both. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for reading. 😊

  2. You are in our hearts and prayers. May God heal you completely from both. Love and hugs💕
